About Me
Monika Goetz, MSc, MSW, RSW (she/her)
Hi there! I’m a registered social worker and psychotherapist with lived experience as a queer person and supporting loved ones with misophonia.
I aim to create a safe, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere for you to share and feel supported. I also incorporate humour and lightheartedness in my approach, while making space for the weight of heavier topics as they come up, all at your pace.
More personally, I love rainy days, hot chocolate, fantasy, nature, and cozy video games, especially all together. I come from a big family and am passionate about supporting individuals and communities.
My Approach
My goal is to help you connect with your inner wisdom and authentic self
Queer & gender-affirming
Change, fluidity, certainty, and uncertainty, are all welcome here, across all spectrums
Neurodiversity-affirming
You can show up as you are, as unmasked as feels comfy for you, stim or fidget as you like, and share any sensory needs
Weight-inclusive
Bodies of all shapes, sizes, and abilities, are worthy of love and support, just as they are
Trauma-informed
We can honour what has helped you survive traumatic events and systemic oppression, and help you reconnect with the here and now
Therapeutic Modalities
I integrate a variety of modalities to help meet your unique and specific goals

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Looking at thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, to understand and expand your perspective

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Learning how to change what we can, accept what we can’t, and live a life worth living anyway

Polyvagal Theory
Exploring how your nervous system works hard to protect you, and how to connect with feeling safe and settled

Mindfulness
Practicing nonjudgmental awareness so that you can engage with life and enjoy the little moments
